Are you interested in cheering or playing in the 24th annual flag football game?  Be  sure to scan the QR code on the line green sheets throughout the building.  The cut off for sign ups will be Friday, September 30th at the end of the school day.  Please see Mr. Newell, Ms. Fitzgerald, Ms. Snell or Mrs. Cloutier with any questions.

 

On Monday, October 3rd, Minnechaug Regional High School will be hosting a NEASC Team of evaluators.  These evaluators review all of Minnechaug, including how students feel about their learning, safety and overall school environment.  This week, teachers will be placing a form into Google Classroom looking for student volunteers who are willing to speak to the NEASC Team about their experiences here at Minnechaug.  Please consider volunteering.  We are looking for students from various grade levels to be part of this amazing opportunity.

 

Dr. Trebbe would like to remind students that the IRC is open after school for independent studying and assignment work.  Students who like to socialize are asked to do so outside the IRC.  Students who disrupt the concentrations of others who want to study will be asked to leave.  In addition, only water is allowed.  All other snacks should be eaten outside the IRC.  Thank you for understanding.

 

The IRC Staff would like to invite students to vote on the Massachusetts Teen Choice Book Award.  Twenty-One books were nominated by students all over Massachusetts.  Now it is time to vote on the final winners.  To vote, come to the IRC windows and use the link provided to cast your vote!

The Yearbook Committee is looking for new members to help design, write, photograph, and facilitate for the production of this year's book!  If you think you might be interested, we will be meeting each Tuesday in the Graphics room (A141)  from 2:15-3:00.  Let's make some memories!  Contact Mr. Garron with any questions!

Attention Minnechaug's Rookers and Rollers!  Do you like to conquering your enemies?  Do you have a checkered past?  Then join Chess Club!  We meet on Tuesdays in B240, starting next week!  All levels of play are welcome!  See Mrs. Fim in B240 if you have any questions.  Come play Chess!!

Do you have a ton of school spirit?  Do you like to attend school events?  Do you have experience dancing: Color Guard is searching for new members!  Learn to spin flags, rifles, and sabres for football games, parades, and winter guard performances!  We meet each Wednesday in the Graphics room from 2:15-3:00.  Contact Mr. Garron with any questions.

Have you ever considered starting your own podcast? Or maybe you've wanted to see yourself on cable news 6. Or you have a passion for taking photographs and posting it on the 'gram.  If any of the following describe you, consider joining the Smoke Signal, Minnechaug's multimedia newspaper.  We are looking for staff writers or photographers to produce content for any of the following categories: News, Sports, Features, Opinions, Multimedia and Variety.  If interested, please join us for an informational meeting next Thursday, Sept. 22nd in B205.  Please contact Mer. Minnechaug GSA will be meeting after school each Thursday in the Graphics room (A141) from 2:15-3:00.  Use your voice!  We've got your back.  Stop by and get involved!  Contact Mr. Garron with any questions.

Minnechaug Video Game Club meets every Friday after school in room A204 from 2:10-3:30pm.   Video Game Club is a great place to not only plat games with friends, but to get more involved in your school, and meet new people who like the same things you do!  You can bring your own games and systems or just bring yourself, there's always something to play and always room for a player 2!  We are always accepting new members, so stop by on any Friday.  If you have questions, or want to get connected with the club or get club updates and connect with club members through our Discord server, please visit Mr. Bullard in B107.

Are you interested in podcasts? How about radio and video? If you answered yes, then your in luck!  The IR Triple C,  or the Informational Resource Commons Community Council, is joining forces with the Smoke Signal, Minnechaug's own newspaper.  We want to bring audiovisual news broadcasting to CHAUG!  If you are interested in learning more, let us know!  Stop outside the IRC to scan the posted QR Code and fill out the Google Form! Counseling Center Announcements

PSAT registration is now open for the October 15th exam.  Sophomores and Juniors can register for the exam on UNIPAY.  The cost is $25.00 and the deadline is October 10th.  If you have any questions, see your school counselor for information.

Are you interested in learning about what careers are available in the STEAM field?  If so, sign up for the Careers in STEAM field trip in the Counseling Center.  The trip will be on November 30th and it is only open to the first 20 students who sign up and turn in a completed permission slip.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Considine in the Counseling Center. 

On Thursday, September 29th, a representative from the University of Vermont will be in the conference room in the Counseling Center from 8:00-8:45am with information for prospective students.  If you are interested in attending please go to the Counseling Center to sign up before the end of the day on Tuesday, Sept. 27th.
