Open Online Resources

JSTOR Daily is a wonderful resource for current events. JSTOR is open to the public. The writings consider contemporary issues with academic journals found in JSTOR's well-known database.  This resource pairs well with the academic offering JSTOR that is available to all students with a Boston Public Library card.
Archive Grid

National Archives
The National Archives online is a digital collection of the United States' founding documents, including letters written by the Founding Fathers. The resource also includes public records used to conduct everyday business such as important individual ancestry and military records. The  National Archives also offers Civics education support and featured Online Exhibits where students and families can go beyond the school day's lessons. 
Internet Archive
A Non-Profit Library of documentation dating as far back is the 15th century to current times.  Items are in the open domain.  Use especially with primary documentation research. The site also includes the Wayback Machine, which copies and archives webpages on a daily basis.
